Essential preparatory meetings were held ahead of the Karate One Premier League Leshan, as officials worked to align standards and ensure smooth delivery of the competition. The Coach meeting and Referee briefing served to kick off the anticipated third stage of the of the Karate One Premier League.
The Coach meeting was led by Event supervisor and WKF Technical Commission member Dominique Sigilo and WKF Technical Commission chair Mohamed Elhosieny. Both outlined organisational matters and explained updates to the latest rules. The need for stronger education of coaches to improve understanding and consistency across teams was stressed as the session focused on clarity and preparation, aiming to support fair and efficient competition.
The Referee briefing followed, conducted by event chief referee and WKF Referee Commission member Ma Junting. In attendance were the president of the Chinese Karate Association Zhang Zhi, along with Event supervisor and WKF Technical Commission member Dominique Sigilo and WKF Technical Commission chair Mohamed Elhosieny. The meeting reviewed refereeing procedures and assessed their standardisation. Officials discussed key points to ensure unified decision-making and consistent application of the rules during the event.
In a statement, WKF President Antonio Espinós thanked the World Karate Federation representatives on site for their work. “The efforts of the WKF officials on site help maintain the high standards and steady progress of WKF events. The excellence of Karate events continues to grow, event by event, and the collaboration of both the representatives of the WKF and the Local Organising Committee is essential to ensure that the best conditions to the development of Karate are met. In this sense, I would like to thank the Chinese Karate Association and its president Zhang Zhi for organising an excellent event and for their role in promoting karate in China and worldwide.”
