Top karate athlete Mo Sheung Grace Lau of Hong Kong has been named Athlete of the Month by the International World Games Association (IWGA). The recognition highlights her strong form and consistent results at the highest level of international karate.
“I remain focused on preparing for my next major target…I understand the intensity of the competition, so I am committed to putting in the necessary work and dedication to earn that victory,”she saidin a statement shared by IWGA.
Grace Lau is the current world champion and Grand Winner in the female kata category. She is ranked number one in the World Karate Federation world rankings, and she has won gold medals at all three Karate One Premier League events held this season. These results confirm her dominance in female kata.
Her winning streak has been ongoing since March 2025, at the Karate One Premier League in Hangzhou, China. Since then, she has not lost an international bout, and this record reflects her consistency and focus in competition.
The IWGA Athlete of the Month recognises athletes who are in top form across sports included in The World Games. In the statement, IWGA noted that Lau “continues to redefine excellence in karate” through her performances this season.
“I always prioritise the journey of self-competition above all else. My main goal is to deliver a performance that truly reflects the hard work and dedication I have invested in my training,”she explainedto IWGA.“Ultimately, it’s about harnessing my personal journey and using each experience as a stepping stone toward excellence.”
Grace Lau’s next stops are theKarate One Premier League in Rabat,where she aims to retain the Grand Winner title and theAKF Senior Championshipsin Bali, where she intends to claim her fourth consecutive continental crown.
