The opening ceremony of the Karate One Youth League season took place in Fujairah, marking the showcase of the support of local officials to the sport and the heritage and legacy of the event. The ceremony was chaired by Antonio Espinós, President of the World Karate Federation (WKF), alongside Major General Nasser Alrazooqi, WKF Vice President, President of the Asian Karate Federation (AKF), and President of the UAE Karate Federation.
Distinguished guests included Saeed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Head of Fujairah Court, and Qais Al Dhalai, Board Member of the UAE National Olympic Committee, along with other senior officials and representatives from the sports community.
The opening ceremony highlighted local culture and demonstrated strong community support for karate in the UAE. Traditional performances and cultural elements were integrated into the program, reflecting Fujairah’s heritage and the commitment of local authorities to youth sport development.
WKF President Antonio Espinós said after the event:“We are grateful to the UAE Karate Federation and to its President, Major General Nasser Alrazooqi, for organising once again one of the highlight events of the year. Their work and dedication continue to support the progress of karate in this region and around the world. The participation of so many young athletes shows the bright future of our sport.”
