Asian Karate Federation Executive Committee Reviews Continental Progress at Karate One Youth League in Fujairah

The Executive Committee of the Asian Karate Federation (AKF) met during the 2026 Karate One Youth League in Fujairah to review the state of the sport across the continent and assess its continued growth. The meeting was chaired by AKF President and WKF Vice President Major General Nasser Alrazooqi with WKF President Antonio Espinós in attendance.

Several key organisational and structural matters were discussed. The agenda included the reshuffle and appointment of AKF sub-committees to strengthen governance and operations. Members also received reports on karate’s participation in the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) and preparations linked to the 20th Asian Games.

The Executive Committee reviewed the Guardian Girls Karate programme, assessing its development and impact in promoting legacy across Asia. Future events were a central focus of the meeting as the 2027 AKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships were awarded to Tokyo, Japan, and the 2027 AKF Senior Championships were appointed to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WKF President Antonio Espinós praised the progress of karate in Asia. “Karate in Asia continues to grow at all levels, and the work carried out by the AKF is outstanding. In this sense, the leadership of Major General Nasser Alrazooqi is tremendously valuable. His contribution to the development of the sport not only in Asia but around the world is unparalleled and for that, the whole Karate community is greatly thankful.”
