Guardian Girls Karate Seminar Empowers Women in Alexandria During Mediterranean Karate Championships

A Guardian Girls Karate seminar was successfully held in Alexandria, Egypt, bringing together 23 women for a day of education, empowerment and karate training. The activity took place on the occasion of the Mediterranean Karate Championships and marked another important step in expanding the World Karate Federation's educational programmes across the region.

The seminar was led by WKF instructor Cinzia Colaicomo and was organised by the Mediterranean Karate Federation (MKFU) in cooperation with the Egyptian Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation (WKF). Participants took part in practical sessions and educational activities designed to strengthen confidence, leadership and personal safety.

The event was attended by Mediterranean Karate Federation President and WKF Vice President Bechir Cherif and Egyptian Karate Federation President and WKF Executive Committee member Mohamed Mahrous Eldahrawy, underlining the strong commitment of both organisations to promoting opportunities for women and girls through karate.

The success of this first Mediterranean edition reflects the organisation’s determination to support WKF educational and social programmes while creating new opportunities for women and girls throughout the Mediterranean region. By working together with national federations, the WKF continues to expand the reach of initiatives that use karate as a tool for education and positive social impact.

The Guardian Girls Karate programme is the WKF's initiative to help prevent gender-based violence through education, awareness and practical karate training. Through seminars, educational activities and instructor development, the programme empowers women and girls while promoting confidence, leadership and personal safety.
