The Karate One Youth League in Poreč, Croatia, welcomed several distinguished guests over the weekend, underlining the growing importance of one of the largest youth karate events in the world. Among the high-ranking officials attending the event were Loris Peršurić, Mayor of Poreč and Member of the Croatian Parliament, and Haris Pavletić, President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).
The officials were welcomed by World Karate Federation (WKF) President and European Karate Federation (EKF) President Antonio Espinós and Croatian Karate Union President, WKF Executive Committee member and EKF General Secretary Davor Cipek.
During their meeting with Mayor Peršurić, the discussions focused on Poreč's position as one of the world's leading destinations for karate. Having hosted the Karate One Youth League and the WKF Youth Camp for several consecutive years, the Croatian city has become a key centre for the development of young karate athletes and an important venue on the international karate calendar.
President Espinós and Mr. Cipek also met with EUSA President Haris Pavletić. The discussions centred on the strong cooperation between the European Karate Federation and the European University Sports Association and the continued participation and development of karate within EUSA competitions.
The 2026 Karate One Youth League in Poreč once again demonstrated the strength of youth karate while reinforcing the close cooperation between the World Karate Federation, the European Karate Federation, local authorities, and partner organisations committed to the future of the sport.
